Kari Vreim Family

Kari Vreim came to America, with her family, in 1866 and settled near Kasson, Minnesota in Dodge County.
In 1877, hearing of the fertile land in the Whetstone Valley, her sons Ole and Gunder Vreim, took a train to
Gary, Dakota Territory, and then walked to the Wilmot area. There they picked out some land they liked, and
returned to Kasson and farmed one more year. In 1879 they packed all their belongings and farm equipment in
a railroad car and returned to Gary, Dakota Territory. From there they came by wagon to an area south of where
Wilmot would be founded two years later. Kari Vreim and her family came to the area in 1881.
