The Fred Jundt funeral services were attended by a number of outsiders of whom we might mention Jake, John, Fred and Henry Jundt and their mother were here from Eureka.  They were sons of Henry Jundt, a brother to Fred Jundt.  Mrs. Staecker, son and daughter, Mr. Eisenbeis and Mrs. Vilhauser were here from Hosmer, Mrs. Roech, Mr. and Mrs. John Hottman were here from Tolstoy, Fred and Jake Jundt and families were here from Hosmer, Rev. and Mrs. G. A. Walz and family were here from Ravillo, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neu, and two daughters, Mr. Andrew Neu and Jake Neu from Rockham.

Obituary - Fred Jundt was born on the 12th of May, 1871 in Gliektal, Russia, as the son of Henry and Kathryn Jundt, nee Vogel.  Having spent the years of youth at the place of his birth he immigrated to America, arriving in Freeman, S. Dak on October 24th 1889, and settling here.  On November 13th, 1894 he was married to Miss Christina Walz, daughter of John and Kathryn Walz, nee Maier.  For seven years the now deceased lived in Heilbronn.  In the year 1902 he with his family moved to Freeman.  For a period of 18 years after this he was active in the mercantile business.  For a number of years he also served as deacon of his church.  He died on July 29th, at 5:25 P.M. and attained the age of 64 years, 2 months and 17 days.  For a period of 3 years he suffered from diabetes.  One son preceded the father in death.  Those mourning his departure are his widow and the following children:  John Jundt, of Menno:  Kathyrn (Mrs. R. Stolp, Decatur, Indiana,) Ella (Mrs. F. Stolp); Olga (Mrs. Henry Stucky); and Margaret (Mrs. Clarence Waltner); 4 sisters, two of who reside in Russia; three sons-in-law; one daughter-in-law and eight grand-children.  Funeral services were conducted on August 1st, at St. Paul's Lutheran church and were in charge on Rev. C.D. Eifert.  The body was laid to rest in Freeman Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Messrs. D. Ellwein, Otto Gering, J. Haar, Richard Schamber, J. I. Walter, and Wm. Wilde.
