Mrs. Karolina Stolp the wife of the deceased Mr. Jacob Stolp, was born May 24th 1867 at Granan Wuertenberg, Germany. In 1883 the deceased came to North Amerika. On May 24th 1887 she was united into the bond of holy matrimony and became the wife of Mr. Jacob Stolp. This marriage was blessed with five sons. One of these died in early infancy. After the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Stolp lived at Mt. Vernon for a number of years. Later they moved to the state of Missouri. In 1898 they returned to S.D. and established their home in Freeman where both resided until death. In January 1924 Mr. Jacob Stolp, the husband of the deceased, departed this life. Since the death of her husband the deceased was at times quite ailing and was compelled to submit to three operations. On July 5th she submitted to a serious operation. She, her children and friends hoped she would again regain her health after some time yet the Lord did not will it thus. His will was to take her from this vale of tears to Himself in heaven. Soon after her operation she realized that the hour of her death was drawing nearer. She willingly submitted to His will and prayed Lord not my will but Thine be done. On July 13 at 1:05 P.M.[1930] she departed this life believing and trusting Jesus as her only Savior. The prayer which she repeatedly prayed with the pastor was: Jesus blood and righteousness my beauty are my glorious dress, wherin before my God I stand when I shall enter the heavenly land. The funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mr. Fred Stolp and at the St. Pauls Lutheran church, Rev. G. Schaefer officiating. In church the choir and also members of the Lutheran Ladies Aid rendered two hymns appropriate for the occasion. She was laid to rest in the Freeman Cemetery. The deceased leaves to mourn her death: Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stolp, of Freeman; Stolp of McNeal, Arizona; Mr. and Mrs. William Stolp of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Mr. and Mrs. Rudolf Stolp, Decatur, Ind., Mr. and Mrs. Herman Stolp of McNeal, Arizona, 12 grandchildren, 1 brother, 1 sister, besides other relatives and friends.
