Aberdeen Daily News Wednesday, Dec 01, 1897

Edward Adkins, a 3 year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Adkins who live five miles in the country northwest, died yesterday presumably of burns received by coming in contact with boiling water.

No physician was called and a medical statement as to cause of death has not been made. As the burns seemed rather slight, the relatives incline to the opinion that the child’s death was partially due at least to its fright.

The funeral is to be held on Friday, and the interment will be in Riverside cemetery. Mr. Adkins, the father, is a brother-in-law of Andrew Kindschy.
