MRS. AMDSEN DEAD.
Mrs. F. A. Amsden passed away Saturday morning at 10:00 o’clock, and though she had been in failing health for some time, her death came as a sudden shock to the family. Mrs. Amsden was stricken with paralysis a little over a year ago and has been an invalid ever since.
Deceased was born in Melborn, Canada, in 1830, and married F. A. Amsden, whose demise we chronicled last October, in 1898. They immigrated to Wisconsin in ’62 and from there to Minnesota in ’76, coming to Groton, S. D., in ’83, where they have since resided. The remaining son and daughter, of a family of four children, have the sympathy of the community in being bereft of both mother and father with only a few months intervening.
Funeral services were conducted at the M. E. church Monday afternoon by Rev. T. Sanderson, and the remains were laid to rest in Union cemetery.
