A. E. BERG IS DEAD
Warner Pioneer Passes Away After Lingering Illness

A. E. Berg, a pioneer resident of southern Brown county, died at his home at Warner on Thursday night after a lingering illness. Mr. Berg settled at Warner in the fall of 1881, where he took up a homestead. He was engaged in the blacksmith business for many years, but some years ago he retired from active life.

Besides his widow, he leaves the following children: Albert, formerly assistant cashier of the First State Savings Bank of this city and now cashier of a bank at Gwinner, N. D.; George and Edward, employees of the C.M. & St. Paul railroad; Fred, at present in Spokane, and William and Anna who are at the Warner home. Otto, another son, died in the Philippines where he went with Company F during the Spanish-American war.

The arrangements for the funeral will not be completed until Albert Berg arrives from Gwinner, N.D., but it will probably be held next Tuesday.

A. E. BERG
Warner Pioneer’s Funeral Was Largely Attended

The funeral of the late A. E. Berg, who died early Saturday morning at his home at Warner, was held yesterday afternoon from the Methodist church. The funeral was the most largely attended one ever held in that community, the entire neighborhood being delirious to bear testimony of the high esteem in which they held him. The church was so overcrowded that there was seating room only for the mourners and ladies. the services were conducted by Rev. Bromagim of DeVoe, for many years pastor of the Warner church. The floral offerings were profuse. The interment was in Warner cemetery.

Among the Aberdeenites who attended were Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Flickinger, Mr. and Mrs. William Bain, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cates, Sheriff Anderson and Alof Berg.
