WOMAN PIONEER DIES 

Mrs. Margaret E. Breidenbach Dies at Home After Long Illness 

Mrs. Margaret E. Breidenbach, who at the age of 84 claimed one of the widest and highest esteemed friendships in the city, died suddenly Tuesday afternoon at her home, 420 South Washington street, after a seven month’s illness. 

The widow of the late John Briedenbach, she had been a resident of South Dakota since 1882, living in Aberdeen since 1897. She had been an active member in numerous civic organizations. 

Mrs. Breidenbach was born in Kane county, Ill., but moved with her parents to Brainerd, Ia. There she was married to Nelson Gardner. The family moved to a homestead in Ordway township, four miles northwest of Bath. Mr. Gardner passed away after the family moved to Aberdeen. 

In 1912 she was married to Mr. Breidenbach who died ten years ago. Survivors include a son, Elmer Gardner of Aberdeen, a daughter, Mrs. David Fritz of Bath, seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, two brothers and a sister at Brainerd, Ia. 

Mrs. Breidenbach was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and the Women’s Relief Corps for which she was color bearer. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Episcopal church Friday at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. A. N. Courtney officiating. Interment will be in the family lot at Riverside cemetery.
