DEATH OF PIONEER RESIDENT

Jerry Eisenhood, Ex-Sheriff of Brown County, Passes Away

Jerry Eisenhood, at one time sheriff and deputy sheriff of Brown county, died of paresis at his home at Groton last Tuesday evening, after an illness of several years. Mr. Eisenhood’s illness was a very sad one, as he had for more than a year been entirely helpless.

Mrs. Eisenhood, who is well known in this city, has the sympathy of a wide circle of friends both here and in Groton. Mr. Eisenhood was born in Carlton Center, Mich., forty-seven years ago. In 1880 he married Miss Cornelia Doster, and two years later came to South Dakota. He is survived by one brother and three sisters.

The deceased was a member of the Odd Fellows and the Groton A. O. U. W. Funeral services were held at his residence on Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock, and were attended by the Odd Fellows in a body. The burial was in the Union cemetery at Groton.
