DEATH OF IDA ELLSWORTH
Miss Ida Ellsworth, who died last Saturday morning, the 9th of June, was buried on Sunday in the cemetery at Bath, had been resident of this county since 1881, always making her home with the family of John Helmka. Her death resulted from blood poisoning, caused by a blister on her right hand made by using a tack puller in taking up a carpet. The blister had apparently got well several weeks ago, but a slight sore remained. This began to get very painful some two weeks ago, but blood poison was not certain until a few days before her death. As a last resort the hand was amputated but too late to save her. Her only relative in the county is John Lathrop of Gem township. She was born in Lapeer county, Michigan, 48 years ago. She has been a ministering angel to the whole community in which she lived and few depart this life, who are so sadly missed and sincerely mourned as she.
