Mansfield Pioneer Dies From Rheumatic Attack

Lucullus Fisher, who has been a prominent farmer in the Mansfield district for the past twenty-four years, died last Saturday night at his home three miles north and a half mile east of Mansfield. Rheumatism of the heart is given as the cause of his death. His demise was a sudden one, as he had been around the place up to a few minutes before he died.

When taken with the attack which caused his death, he went to the door to call his son and then fell back unconscious. He died before anything could be done to relieve him.

Mr. Fisher was 46 years of age last April. He came to this country in an emigrant wagon in 1882 from Almont, Mich. Several years later he went back home and married a Miss Reed.

His wife, with five children, Floyd, Warren, Earl, Grace and Ulysses, survive him. He was a member of the M. W. A., holding a $2,000 policy made out in favor of his wife.

The funeral will be held probably on Wednesday afternoon, although this is not definite. A brother, William, who resides at Almont, Mich., has been notified and if he decides to attend the funeral the burial will be postponed for a day or two longer.
