Funeral Was Held at Aberdeen, on Last Thursday
Mrs. N. P. Friel, residing for many years in the vicinity of Wesport, died Sunday morning, October 26th, at the ripe age of 72 years. She leaves to mourn, her husband N. P. Friel, three sons, John and Dennis of Washington state, and Edward Friel of Westport; and six daughters, Mrs. Fred Lebold of Aberdeen, Mrs. Floyd Johnson of Westport, Mrs. Edward Mosher of Chicago, Mrs. Ed Stearns and Kate and Margaret Friel of Westport.
Mrs. Friel, whose maiden name was Margaret McMennimin, was born in county of Donegal, Ireland. She was married to N. P. Friel in the city of Philadelphia where she resided six years and where three of the children were born. The family then removed to Illinois where they resided until coming to South Dakota, sixteen years ago. She was held in the highest esteem by her many friends. She was a faithful wife and loving mother, carefully rearing her numerous family. She was a devoted Catholic, and her remains were brought to the church of the Sacred Heart in Aberdeen where the column requiem mass was celebrated by Father Kane, assisted by Father o’Hara. Her remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery at Aberdeen, October 30th, 1902.
