Aberdeen Daily Friday, November 20, 1914 

Frederick Haker passed away at his home in Stratford, Nov. 15th after a lingering sickness. Deceased was born on the 13th day of February, 1855 at Germany. He came to America at the age of 17 years and in the state of Wis. worked as a laborer until 1881, when he came to South Dakota and located on a homestead five miles northeast of Stratford. 

He was married in 1878 to Mary Dickraff. To this union six children were born. He is survived by two sons and two daughters. His wife and two children passed to the great beyond years ago. 

Funeral was held at the home in Stratford Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Haker was among the pioneer residents of this community and years ago he had lived in Groton a great portion of his time. He will be missed by a wide circle of friends.
