PIONEER RESIDENT OF CITY DIES
Miss Mary F. Lorber Passes away at St. Luke’s - Funeral on Saturday
Miss Mary F. Lorber, a pioneer resident of Aberdeen, died at St. Luke’s hospital at 11:30 o’clock last night, of gall stones, aged 61 years. Miss Lorber was a native of Alsace-Lorraine. She came to the United States in 1874, locating with her parents in Iowa, where her father and mother both died a number of years ago.
In 1883, Miss Lorber came to Aberdeen, and for twenty years was a resident of this city. In 1903 she moved to the state of Washington, where she resided until four years ago, when she returned to Brown county, and for the past two years had resided at Wetonka.
She was taken to St. Luke’s hospital about a week ago, and steadily grew worse until the end came last night. The body will lie at the Wilson undertaking parlors until tomorrow morning, when the funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart church at 10 o’clock, interment being in Sacred Heart cemetery.
Three brothers survive the deceased, Joseph Lorber of Aberdeen, Louis Lorber of Marley, Min., and a third brother who resides at La Rochelle, France. Miss Lorber was well known and was well liked by the early residents of Aberdeen, and her death, to them, comes as a personal bereavement.
