Miss Anna Rehfeld, child of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Rehfeld, aged 16 years, died at the home of her parents south of Warner, May 8th, of a complication of diseases of about six weeks duration. She became ill with pleurisy which reached an acute stage when it was thought she could not long survive the attack, but she rallied and apparently was gaining. She rapidly became worse when the Sunday before her death she consented to have an operation performed to have the water drawn off her lungs. She grew worse, peritonitis setting in causing her death.

The funeral services were conducted at the house and M.E. church by Rev. Graebe, who preached in English and German; interment in the Warner cemetery. A large concourse of friends came to pay their respects to the dead girl and show their sympathy to the bereaved family.
