Mrs. T. J. Robinson
(Likely) Groton, South Dakota newspaper publication, August 1900
LOCAL NEWS — FOUND DEAD.
While the family of T. J. Robinson slumbered Tuesday night, death invaded the home and took away the wife and mother. Her dead body was discovered yesterday morning, lying on a quilt on the floor beneath the dining room window, where she had laid it during the night as a cooler place to rest, after a hard day’s work.
During the evening, Mr. Robinson says, she arose and taking a quilt went to the dining room to lie down, as was sometimes her custom on sultry nights. Mr. Robinson arose about 5 o’clock this morning and not wishing to disturb her sleep went out to smoke his pipe. An hour later he re-entered the house to arouse the family, and was horrified upon finding the dead body of his wife.
Dr. Evans and Justice H___h viewed the remains and decided that an inquest was unnecessary, death having evidently resulted from heart failure, with which she had been troubled for a long time.
Deceased was 50 years of age and leaves 11 children, four of whom are quite small. Her maiden name was Katherine Stuck, her parents being well-to-do and highly respected residents of Michigan.
