DEATH OF HENRY T. ROOT 

One of the Earliest settlers of Bath Passes Away of Consumption 

Henry T. Root, of Bath, died this morning at 7 o’clock of consumption after a lingering and painful illness. The funeral services will be held at 2:30 o’clock on Friday afternoon from the M. E. Church in that place. Deceased was a member of Robt. Anderson Post, G. A. R., of this city, which will leave headquarters at promptly 1 o’clock on Friday to attend the last services. Mr. Root had been in failing health for several years and of late had lost ground rapidly. 

He was in the harness business at Bath for some time and also filled the position of postmaster for the village. From the Post records in this city it is learned that he enlisted in the 32d Wisconsin in December, 1863, and was mustered out of service in August, 1865. He was in the neighborhood of 52 years of age. His native state was New York. 

The deceased is survived by his wife and other immediate relatives who are not extensively known here.
