Eugene P. Rose

A member of the G. A. R. Post of this city went to Rondell Monday, to attend the funeral of Eugene. P. Rose, who died yesterday. Mr. Rose served in the “Iron Brigade” during the war losing a leg at the battle of Gettysburg. At the close of the war he returned to his home in Juneau county, Wisconsin, where he occupied several important positions of honor and trust, among them being the office of register of deeds.

His sickness has been of short duration, he having been in Aberdeen but a few weeks ago. He was well known and very popular here and the announcement of his death will be a surprise to many. He had been a resident of Brown county for several years and was one of its most thrifty and industrious farmers. He leaves a wife and one or two children.
