Stratford Main is Called by Death; Was Early Pioneer 

James Schlick, a homesteader at Stratford in 1886, died yesterday at the home of his daughter, Edna Pasch of Groton, following a heart attack. He was 78. Mr. Schlick, born in Chicago, Feb. 23 1855, had lived at Stratford since first coming to South Dakota until four years ago when he took up residence with his daughter. 

His wife preceded him in death ten years ago. Four children survive. They are Adolph, Edna Pasch and Alma Heron of Groton and Louis of Stratford. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m., at the Lutheran church at James with the Rev. F. Wilke officiating. Burial will be made at the East Rondell cemetery.
