DEATH OF BROWN COUNTY BOY
George Weihrauch
Groton Independent: Very suddenly, after an illness of barely two days, George Weihrauch died at his home in Lebanon, this state, on Saturday last. Gall stones and liver trouble was his ailment. The body was brought to Groton and funeral services were conducted on Tuesday afternoon by Rev. A. Senne.
Deceased was a son of the late Frank Weihrauch, a native of Groton township, born in 1883, hence was 26 years of age at the time of his death. About two years ago he was married, and a widow and little daughter survive him.
He followed the calling of contractor and builder, had established a comfortable home for his little family, and gave promise of the usual long life of useful effort.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. J. H. Troy, and his two sisters. In addition to the widow and child as above noted. Though but recently arrived at the full estate of manhood he was doing a man’s work in a manly way. Had acquired a home and carried $2,000 life insurance for the benefit of those dependent upon him.
Fred Hunter accompanied Mrs. Weihrauch and child from Lebanon to Groton to attend the funeral, as did also a lady friend of the stricken family. Mrs. Gardner, mother of Mrs. Weihrauch, came all the way from Kansas to attend the funeral, but was delayed on the way, and reached here via Doland on Tuesday evening, too late for the services.
The stricken family and relatives have the sympathy of all in their time of sorrow.
