OLD SETTLER DEAD
R. A. Zimmerman
About three o’clock Thursday morning R. A. Zimmerman breathed his last. Mr. Zimmerman was born near Toronto, Canada, January 24, 1838; came to South Dakota in 1880, and was one of the very early settlers in this locality; making his home in Riverside until failing health caused him to leave the farm. He was a carpenter by trade, and the Presbyterian church was among the Groton Buildings erected under his supervision. He leaves a widow, three sons and two daughters. The funeral services will be conducted from the Presbyterian church at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon. — Groton Independent
