Mrs. Julius Hasse Released From Suffering After a Long Illness
Mrs. Julius Hasse quietly passed away Monday morning at 2:45 after a long and serious illness. She was born January 20, 1834, in Germany. When 23 years of age she came to America and soon after married Frederick William Luke, to whom four children were born, namely, D. G. Luke, W. F. Luke, Mrs. G. E. Merten and Mrs. E. Melcher. After living in Wisconsin about eight years the family settled in Winona county, Minn., at which place her husband died.
She was again united in marriage to Julius Hasse, July 16, 1868. To this union, two sons were born, G.J. and Otto J. Hasse. In 1883 they came to Dakota and settled in Gem township, Brown county, where they were quite successful at farming. Retiring from farm life they located in Aberdeen which has since been their home.
Her husband and all of her children survive her and mourn deeply the loss of an ever kind and affectionate wife and mother. When quite young Mrs. Hasse united with the Evangelical church and was a consecrated Christian and faithful worker until death. To know her was to love her and it may truly be said that she has fallen asleep in Jesus. The funeral occurred on Wednesday, from the Evangelical church.
