Groton Independent, Aug. 24 1900 — After a week of intense suffering, Mrs. William Koepsel passed to her reward last Sunday morning at 6:00 o’clock, pleurisy with effusion being her ailment.
Mrs. Koepsel, nee Adaline Wegner, was thirty-five years of age and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Wegner, both of whom died in this county in an early day. She was the sister of Herman, William and Julius Wegner, who now reside in this city. Deceased was married to William Koepsel at this place in February, 1888, and three daughters were born to them, the older being 11 years of age. She was of Evangelical faith and consistent in her Christian life, always patient in her domestic duties and ever ready to assist others.
Brief funeral services were held from the residence and the remains were conveyed to the German Evangelical church where Presiding Elder Oertly conducted impressive services. The deceased was highly esteemed in this community and a large circle of friends were present at the funeral ceremonies. We join with them in expressing sympathy with the bereaved relatives in their great sorrow.
