August Moberg

August Moberg, a prominent contractor known all over the northern part of the state, and for fifteen years a resident of Aberdeen, died Tuesday morning at 9 o’clock at the family home, 215 Sixth Avenue southwest, following an illness of about two months’ duration, death being caused by brain trouble. His condition had been growing worse gradually until the end came.

Mr. Moberg was born in Stockholm, Sweden, August 28, 1870, and when about 26 years of age came to America. He learned his trade of carpenter and cabinet maker in his parent country and upon arriving in this country started work at his trade, first in Chicago. He worked there for a short time and when building at the St. Louis exposition began he went to that city and worked on some of the exhibition structures. Since coming to Aberdeen he had been prominently identified with building operations in general, being the contractor in a number of large projects and had built several beautiful homes, in one of which the family now lives.

He is survived by his wife and three children: Glenn, aged 7 years; Royal, aged 5 years, and Ruth, aged 2 years. Three brothers and a sister are living, making their home in the old country. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon from the home at 2 o’clock, Rev. O. Glesne officiating. Interment will be made here.
