Thomas J. Nolan died very suddenly at his home on Main street south, at four o’clock Tuesday morning of hemorrhage of the lungs. Until about ten days before his death he had been in perfect health, when a week ago Saturday evening he was taken suddenly with a severe coughing spell which resulted in a hemorrhage of the lungs. It was feared at that time that he could not live but he seemed to improve daily and it was thought that he would soon be able to attend to his business. He was up to dinner Monday and was apparently much better but early Tuesday morning he had another hemorrhage which caused his death.

Mr. Nolan came to Aberdeen in 1882 and since that time has been the general agent for the J. I. Case Company. He was married to Miss Florence Willey of this city in 1892 and has been a devoted husband and father, giving all the time he could spare from his business to his family. Mr Nolan will be greatly missed in Aberdeen and Brown County where he was well known and was respected by everyone. He was the soul of honor and business integrity and there was scarcely a resident of Aberdeen who enjoyed to a greater degree the confidence and esteem of his fellow citizens. He had not an enemy in the country and his treatment of his fellow men was such as to bring their genuine friendship. The expressions of sorrow which were made by everyone on hearing of his untimely death showed how highly the deceased was regarded in his chosen home. The funeral occurred at St. Mark’s church yesterday afternoon under the auspices by the A. O. U. W. and I. O. O. F. lodges of which he was a member.
