The funeral of the late Mrs. Mary Shaddock was held from the Wesleyan Methodist church in this city on Sunday at 1 o’clock in the afternoon, Rev. R. Hardy officiating. The deceased was a remarkable woman in many respects, and at the time of her death she was, so far as is known, the oldest person in Brown county, having reached the age of 93 years.
She was born in Oxford, Canada, in 1806, but lived nearly all her life in the United States. Her long life was a very active one, and she survived all of her ten children except two, who are C. M. Shaddock of Ordway, with whom she had made her home since 1897, and Mrs. Catherine Kilner of Shunk, Pa. From childhood she was a devoted member of the Wesleyan Methodist church. Until recently she had been in wonderfully robust health for one of her age. Last fall she contracted a severe cold which she was unable to throw off, and death resulted Thursday afternoon.
