John Agnew
A very sad accident occurred near Snake Creek, about ten miles west of here [Aberdeen], on last Monday forenoon. John Agnew, a young man about twenty-five years of age, formerly of Wisconsin, who was employed by the contractors in building the bridges on the C. M. &* St. P. Ry. extension west from this city, came to his death by being struck by a falling timber that was being placed in position on one of the bridges that cross Snake Creek. It was not considered necessary to hold an inquest, as the party came to his death through purely accidental causes.
