Melissa O. Hallett, 9 Sep 1869-22 Sep 1884
Miss Melissa O. Hallett, whose serious illness we announced last week, died at 10 a.m. last Monday. She had been in fair health until about two weeks ago when that dread disease, typhoid fever, came upon her and claimed her as a victim on the above day.
The funeral was held at the residence of H. A. Allen at 10 o’clock Wednesday forenoon. Rev. John N. Culbertson preached a very eloquent and affecting sermon after which the remains were deposited in Oakwood cemetery.
Miss Hallett was twenty-five years of age and had been a resident of this vicinity about two years. A large circle of friends and relatives mourn her untimely demise.
