MRS. WILLIAM FLIPPIN
Funeral services for Mrs. William Flippin, 80, 311 Prescott St., a Sioux Cityan since 1953, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Vermillion, S.D. The Rev. Douglas Hiza of Vermillion will officiate. Burial will be in Bluff View Cemetery at Vermillion under the direction of the Elmore-Wagner-Iverson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Alvin Gunderson, Wayne Heckenlively, Vincent Trudeau, Harold Cusick, Vern Christensen and William Anderson.
Mrs. Flippin died Monday at a Sioux City hospital.
Mrs. Flippin, the former Elsie Maude, was born Jan. 16, 1885, at LeMars, Iowa. She was married March 25, 1908, at Vermillion, S.D., to William Flippin and they farmed in the Vermillion-Burbank, S.D., area until moving to Sioux City.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Churches in Vermillion and Sioux City.
Survivors include the widower; a son, William E. of Denver; two daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Fern) Culmer of Arkansas City, Kan., and Mrs. Rolland (Ruth) Chase of South Sioux City; two brothers, Fred Maude of Vermillion, and Noel Maude of Lawton; three sisters, Mrs. Edith Anderson of Vermillion, Mrs. Jerry Jensen of Sioux City, and Mrs. Lyle Westlund, of Seattle, Wash.; a grand daughter, and a great-grand daughter.
