Rites Conducted At Miller For Willis A. Hall

MILLER: Funeral services for Willis Archie Hall, long-time resident and retired postmaster, were held at the First Methodist Church Sunday. The Rev. Richard O. Moberly had charge of services. The burial was at Redfield. 

Hall was born Aug. 13, 1895 near Collins, Iowa, the son of Frank and Clara Hall. He died at Memorial Hospital Aug. 8 following several years illness. When a child he came with his parents to a farm northeast of Burdette. They moved to Redfield in 1901 and he was graduated from Redfield High School in 1914. 

He was a veteran of World War I, having served with the Army Signal Corps in France. His marriage to Ruth Moriarty took place Aug. 23, 1919 and to this union six children were born. The family moved to Miller in 1931 and he opened a hardware store until 1953 when he became active Postmaster. 

Hall was a member of First Methodist Church, Kiwanis Club, Civic and Commerce Association, VFW and American Legion. He organized the softball and baseball leagues in the Miller vicinity. 

He is survived by his widow; five sons, Dwight, Buffalo Grove, ILL; Wayne, Weston, Mass; Bernard, Hartland Park, Calif.; Lyle, Seattle, Wash.; Keith, Iowa City, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; one brother, Clyde, Collins, Iowa. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ruth.
