CROOK CITY
In the Black Hills, Lawrence county, 10 miles from Deadwood (c. h.).
Fort Pierre, 195 miles east, is the nearest railroad approach.
The White Wood creek here gives power to a saw-mill and a flour mill.
Has Catholic and Methodist churches and public and privae
schools, and exports furs hides and potatoes. Population 400.
Daily mail stage to Bismarck and Sidney, Neb.

FOURCHE
A Black Hills postoffice and small farming settlement on
the Big Cheyenne river (north fork), in Lawrence county,
20 miles north of Deadwood (c. h.), from whence it receives
a weekly mail. P. B. Stearns, postmaster and general store.
MINNEAPOLIS
A discontinued postoffice in Lawrence county, Black Hills.
MINNESELA
Formerly known as Lawrence, is a mining settlement in the
Black Hills, Lawrence county, recenlty established as a postoffice.
POSTVILLE
A small post village of 25 souls in Lawrence county
(Black Hills), 25 miles from Deadwood (c. h.) and 170 from
Pierre, the nearest railroad point. Grain and farm produce is
mrketed. The place is on the daily stage and mail line route
between Deadwood and Pierre.
