Camp Lee, Va.    June 8 1918

Local Board, Oacoma

Well, we are now in our new happy home and I like it fine. We got here Tuesday morning.  There were 60 of the boys going to Camp Lee when we left Chicago; most of them from South Dakota.

There are 200 in our veterinary school here. We have to take the same training as the rest of the soldiers. Our job is to finish off training horses and do veterinary work such as giving first aid to wounded horses. All the firearm we carry is a large pistol.

We have Saturday p.m. and Sunday off. We are organizing a baseball team and all kinds of sports here today. This is quite a camp. They tell us there are 50,000 in Camp Lee now.

It sure is fine to see a bunch of soldiers  all lined up in full dress. It is a nice place for a camp. The soil is nearly pure sand and won't stick to your feet, but when it gets dry it will be bad. There are 50 men in our barracks.

Well, I will ring off and line up for eats.

Yours Respectfully,
Wilbur V. England
