Felton, Murvin M.    Co. 20  161st Depot Brigade

August, 1918

Dear folks and friends,

I;m feeling fine. We have a fine place, plenty to eat and wear and I am enjoying myself greatly.

South Dakota boys are being pushed to the front fast. We are good on the drill team field, good on the coal pile, good on the lumber pile and good on the table and getting all kinds of compliments.

We are all feeling good and there is less sickness in the South Dakota camp we were told this morning. All we have time to do is drill and keep our quarters in order. Army life is great, but we have only a four by six area for our home. Loyal and I sleep side by side, but can't tell when we will be parted.

You never know when you will be called to move. You must always be on the stop, look and listen line. If you are not on top you get jerked out and put in the kitchen for 10 days. They are surely strict.

Loyal E. Nelson is still in my company and his address is the same as mine. Only Privates yet, but we will get our jobs soon and help get Berlin. We are all fight and do what we think will make the world right for all. Haven't seen much yet.

Just writing to let you know we are located and have a new address from that of old Iona.

Your old timer,
Murvin
