Hello George,

    Well I suppose you have heard that I didn’t get into the army with the other boys so I enlisted with the navy. I like it here fine, so far; even better than what I know of the army. We have very near the same drill as in the army for 6 hours a day; the rest of the time we do as we please unless we are on guard or in the chow gang (kitchen gang.)

    Well I will close as there is a show at the Y.M.C.A. tonight.
