Mrs. J.W. FULFORD and Otto HANSEN were the two candidates vying for clerk in Oacoma. Mrs. Fulford received 18 votes and Mrs. Hansen received 17. June 22 1905   Gaz

Tom DONAHUE and Rachel HANSON were married Monday at the M.E. Church in Chamberlain. The couple will make their home in the southeast part of Oacoma where Mr. Donahue has completed a little cottage.  July 13, 1905  Gaz

Sheriff PICKETT arrested John HELLECKSON while in Medora, No. Dak.  Helleckson was convicted and sentenced for grand larceny in Lyman County in July, 1899. Sept. 14, 1905  Gaz

Capt. Henry J. KING, who worked on the Mississippi River during war times and later worked on the Missouri River, died last Tuesday in Jackson, Neb. at his daughter's home. He knew the early history of this area.  Mar 30, 1905  Gaz

Jackson I. KING who lives north of Oacoma has been experimenting with the planting of black walnuts and says they are doing well in this part of the country. He planted the nuts in the winter and now has several black walnut trees on his place.     June 10 1909 Arg

Four fellows from Reliance made five-year final proofs on their claims. To get to Reliance, due to the trains not running, F.H. LESTER, George MCMANUS, George L. ALTIG and Wm. C. CULLEN got hold of a hand car and pumped it to Oacoma and back.   June 17  1909  Arg

The town of Lyman is preparing for its farewell as it expects to be taken off the map in about six months. (this would be the first town of Lyman that was located along the Missouri river west of Chamberlain (near Cedar Shore Resort (barbara). July 13, 1905  Gaz

Oacoma resident since 1901, Oscar MCCULLOUGH, died Aug. 9 at the age of 23. He filed on a claim which adjoined that of his sister’s. He was stricken with typhoid fever in July. Oscar served as treasurer of the Cooper S.S. of which he was very responsible. Aug 24 1905 Gaz
