The  Ramsey  Baptist  Church

This small church serves a large area in the northeast corner of McCook County, and has an active congregation even in this time of almost unlimited automobile travel.  It is clearly the religious and social home to the community of rather rurally located folks.

As with most rural churches the people who created  the Ramsey Baptist Church also created the Ramsey Baptist Cemetery.  They are both close together and within the rich Vermillion River valley which was heavily populated during the homestead days.  It is apparent that many of the retiring farmers are not replaced in every case but farming continues to be the way of life.

2.  A List of Burials

A listing of the burials at Ramsey Baptist Cemetery – Section 6 – Ramsey Township – McCook County, gives the individual names in alphabetic order.  This listing also gives the date of birth and date of death when available.   Unfortunately, those burials without grave markers are not generally included because the official burial list was not available at this time.
