January Wednesday 1. 1890-Lee and I came up frome the farme with hay and grain We were affraid a blizzard was comming so we started about two this morning. Father and Mother went to Deadwood. -8degrees 0degrees -12degrees

Thurs. Jan. 2, 1890-A genuine cold wave we are having. Loaded and skid logs. -12degrees -1degrees -10degrees.

Fri. Jan. 3, 1890-Hauled logs on double slayes.Lee went to the valley for hay Mrs. Beamus and two of her children we burried today. -12degrees 0degrees -9degrees

Sat. Jan. 4, 1890-Hauled logs. Father went to Lead. -10degrees 1degrees 9degrees

Sun. Jan. 5, 1890- -8degrees 0degrees -6degrees

Mon.Jan. 6, 1890-Mr. Sparkes and Irvy are heare this eavning I hauled logs -10degrees 20degrees 4degrees

Tues. Jan. 7, 1890-Lee got back from the valley with a load of straw. Hauled logs.Aunt Ella prooved up on her claim. -4degrees 28degrees

Wed. Jan. 8, 1890-Went to Sturgis and got my team shod and Father had the oxen shod I brought 12 cwt. of flour home frome the flour mill. 20degrees

Thurs. Jan. 9, 1890-Hauled logs.The snow is nearly all gon. 30degrees 52degrees 30degrees

Fri. Jan. 10, 1890-Jake commenced skidding Sawed logs this fornoon and wood this after-noon.Snowing this after-noon and eavning Mr.Sparkes and Irvy are heare this eavning. 31degrees 40degrees 30degrees

Sat. Jan. 11, 1890-Hauled logs.lee broke his sled,went to Sturgis to have it fixed.Four in.of snow this morning. -6degrees 10degrees -4degrees

Sun. Jan. 26, 1890-I got up this morning at seven and went after a jag of wood. not so much for the wood though as I did to give my horse exercise on his lame foot,as it is contracting and he must be worked to cure it 48degrees 45degrees 40degrees

Mon. Jan. 27, 1890-Hauled logs off the reservation 18degrees 35degrees 28degrees

Tues. Jan. 28, 1890-Hauled logs this for-noon and run the mill this after-noon. 22degrees 44degrees

Wed. Jan. 29, 1890-Father went to Sturgis with my team he had them shod.run the mill some this after-noon Every body is sick with a cold pheumony or Lagripe it is sicklyist time that I have ever known of in this country. 26degrees 44degrees 52degrees

Thurs. Jan. 30, 1890-A snow squall this after-noon.The mill run I hauled logs and watter. 34degrees

Sun. Feb. 2, 1890-A man was here last night to examine Aunt Ellas watter lime rock and thinks that they may buy it. 38degrees 60degrees 46degrees

Tues. Feb. 4, 1890-Thawed all last night.Went to R.W. with a load of lumber.The creek began to run this after-noon. 49degrees 56degrees

Sat. Feb. 8, 1890-Father went to Sturgis with my team,he took Aunt Ella and Fred and their trunks down they will start for Chicago tomorrow (if they dont change their minds) 30degrees 54degrees

Sun. Feb. 9, 1890-Mother went to church.We have been feeding straw for a weak.Aunt Ella startes for Chicago this after-noon.Lee quit yesterday. 28degrees 46degrees

Mon. Feb. 10, 1890-One in of snow this morning 40degrees

Tues. Feb. 11, 1890-In the Valley to night,Ed scales came down with me after straw. 60degrees

Wed. Feb. 12, 1890-Came back frome the valley with a load of hay.

Thurs. Feb. 13, 1890-Am in the vallet to night 30degrees

Fri. Feb. 14, 1890-Brought a load of hay up to-day.Got it out of the bunch off the meadow,it is bleached and stained but makes veary fair cow hay,there is about 18 T. of it 40degrees

Sat. Feb. 15, 1890-Team ran away with me broke booth waggons. 34degrees 40degrees 18degrees

Sat. Feb. 22, 1890-Hauled logs this fornoon,layed still this afternoon A flury of snow.Irvy,Deacon,and Dave have been here a week cutting wood.

Sun. Feb. 23, 1890-Helped Lew make a hay rack,and put on two loads of wood.Snowing some to-night 38degrees 48degrees

Mon. Feb. 24, 1890-Stormed all day about 3 in of snow to night Hauled three load of logs. 10degrees 8degrees -5degrees

Tues. Feb. 25, 1890-Father went to Deadwood,he took the mare and jack to be shod.The Fought and Walker lawsuit came off to day -18degrees 0degrees -10degrees

Wed. Feb. 26, 1890-hauled logs Mr Sparks came up with a load hay Frosty snow flying all day -15degrees -2degrees -12degrees

Fri. March 7, 1890-Lew and I went to the Valley S.E.W. 22degrees

Sat. March 8, 1890-Brought a load of hay up.Helped survey Aunt Ella's line.Lews house is on her land. 52degrees

Sun. March 9, 1890-A light shower of fine rain. 50degrees

Mon. March 10, 1890-Mother and I are in the valley to night I brought down a cook stove guard,two tabels,rocking chair and spring bed-sted N.W.W.

Tues. March 11, 1890-Cleaned house N.W.W.

Wed. March 12, 1890-Papered the kitchen Irvy was over to day. Mother went home with him. N.W.W. Squalley

Thurs. March 13, 1890-Mother came over with Irvy, he is going to Sturgis with wheat to be changed for flour and taken to the Park

Fri. March 14, 1890-Cleaned the floor and made a mattress Irvy said he got 26 lbs. of first grade flour to the bushel

Sat. March 15, 1890-Arrived in the park this after noon brought a load of oats S.E.W.

Sun. March 16, 1890-58degrees

Mon. March 17, 1890-Arrived heare at the ranch about noon. Fixed hot bed this after-non Dave Sparkes and Irvy are heare to-night Stormed some this for-noon

Tues. March 18, 1890-Storming this morning when we got up and continued until ten. I commenced digging a well this after-noon Lee "Uncle Lews hired man" is with me to-night

Weds. March 19, 1890-Worked on the well all day Irvy and Dave are with me again

Thurs. March 20, 1890-Worked on the well Irvy and Dave made the round trip to the park and back to-day.

Fri. March 21, 1890- Irvy helped me finish the well to day. I have about 18 in. of watter and can not lower it over three in. by bailing. We started to clean the well out at the barn but could not on account of tne sent,it smell worse than a skunk and all most like one. N.W.W. Sqalles

Sat. March 22, 1890-Did odd jobs this for-noon and went to the Park this after noon

Sun. March 23, 1890-

Mon. March 24, 1890-Came down this for-noon. Lee came with me and brought Lews team is agoing to help me a weak or so Ed Scales is with us to night. Veary strong north west wind

Tues. March 25, 1890-Lee commenced plowing today. Did a little of every thing myself N.W.W. Herd a meadow lark for the first time to day

Weds. March 26, 1890-Worked on the ditch made the dam. Big Foot Jake helped me.Lee plowed S.E.W. Commenced raining at seven rained about an hour and turned into snow Mrs. Walden was burried to day.

Thurs. March 27, 1890-Could not plow this for-noon. I fgixed fence and hot bed N.W.W.

Fri. March 28, 1890-Lee and I went over to Irvyes place and got a load of hay. Plowed this after-noon wentill about four when it began to Storme N.W.W. Pulled the shoes off of Freds feat

Sat. March 29, 1890-Snow on the ground this morning Lee plowed this after-noon N.E.B. I sowed some cabbage and radish seeds in the hot bed.

Sun. March 30, 1890- Stormed all day frome the southeast has not lifted much.

Mon. March 31, 1890-Kept the fire agoing cold S.E.W. Ther is about four in of snow on the level.

Tues. April 1, 1890-Went over to Irvyes place got half dozzen chickens. Very cold last night but thawed some to day S.E.B.

Weds. April 2, 1890-Lee plowed this after noon; the ground is not dry enough but I must keep a moving if I get the crop in in season. The radishes in the hot bed are comming up. Light S.E.B.

Thurs. April 3, 1890-Lee plowed I worked on the ditch; Pourter Flowers helped me this aftr-noon N.W.W.

Fri. April 4, 1890-Lee plowed Worked on the ditch: Porter helped me some during the for-noon N.W.W.

Sat April 5, 1890-Went to the Park Will Ecart rode up with me Left Lee on the farme plowing. N.W.W.

Sun. April 6, 1890-Rained some this eavning

Mon. April 7, 1890-Got back about noon worked on the ditch this after-noon N.W.W.

Tues. April 8, 1890-Storming when we got up this morning; Very strong wind from the north-west

Weds. April 9, 1890-Worked on the ditch all day Lee plowed Srong N.W.W.

Thurs. April 10, 1890-Lee plowed and I worked on the ditch N.W.W.

Fri. April 11, 1890-Lee plowed and I worked on the ditch Wind frome all dirrections Big fire on the bluff south-east of hear.Mr Springer planted potatoes I will bet they freeze.

Sat. April 12, 1890-Lee plowed this for-noon and went to the Park this after-noon. I worked on the ditch,I do not think it will ever ammount to anything but it would not do to drop it now having done so much on it Irvy went to Sturgis to day Breaze frome several dirrections.

Sun. April 13, 1890-About 3 in of snow this morning. Went to the Park this after noon N.W.B.
