Fern L. Charbonneau, 67
Fern L. Charbonneau, of Elk Point died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, at Prairie Estates Nursing Home in Elk Point.
Services will be held at 10:00 Wednesday at Anderson Funeral Chapel in Elk Point, with the Rev. Dan Lozer officiating. Burial will be in Elk Point Cemetery.
Fern was born May 24, 1935, in Elk Point, the daughter of Frank and Clara Mae (Simmons) Mackey. She graduated from Westfield High School in 1953.
She married Arnold Hitzemann. They divorced. She then married Robert Charbonneau Sr. on June 27, 1966. She was a cook at Prairie Estates Nursing Home for several years.
She was a member of the Elk Point Rebekahs.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Charbonneau Sr.; two sons, Rodney Mackey and his special friend, Loretta Cunningham, and Robert Charbonneau Jr. and his fiancee, Stacie Hainey, all of Elk Point; two daughters, Rhonda McCarthy of Sioux City, and Marie Charbonneau of South Attleboro, MA; two sisters, Margaret Fletcher of Des Plaines, IL, and Ruth Ann Asmusson of Villa Park, IL; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Harold and Francis Mackey; a sister, Elaine Hunt; and a stepdaughter, Vicki Pettit.
