Mrs. A. Hemmelrick Dies In South Dakota; Leaves 106 Descendants
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 12, for Mrs. Augusta Hemmelrick who died in Big Springs township, Union county, South Dakota Friday, Feb. 8, 1952, at the age of 84 years.
Services were held at Peace Lutheran church with the Rev. E. C. Beyer officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of the Nilson funeral home of Alcester, S.D.
Before moving to South Dakota about 45 years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Hemmelrick lived on a farm near Brunsville, Iowa, known at the time as the Farquhar place. William Hemmelrick preceded his wife in death in 1937.
Mrs. Hemmelrick is survived by 10 children: Mrs. Anna Bijork, of Elk Point, S.D.; Hannah of North Dakota; Emma of Missouri; Mrs. Ed (Eva) Huls of Akron; Elsie and Henry of Minnesota; John and Minnie of South Dakota; Martha of California; and Mrs. Ida Carpenter of Sioux Falls, S.D.
Also surviving are 29 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Attending the services from this vicinity were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Huls and family of Akron, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Huls, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mammen and Mrs. Gesina Martfield, all of LeMars.
