Reke "Eva" A. Huls, 98, of Hawarden, formerly of Akron, died Fri., Jan. 23, 1998 at the Hass Hillcrest Care Center in Hawarden. Funeral services were held on Mon. Jan. 26, 1998 at 11:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron with Rev. William Fleme officiating. Burial was in Brule Creek Lutheran Cemetery, rural Spink, SD. Visitation was on Sun., Jan. 25,1998 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.

Mrs. Huls was born on Jan. 6, 1900, in rural Alcester, Union County, the daughter of Williiam and Augusta (Bullmann) Hemmelrick. She attended school in Alcester. She married Esterd "Ed" Huls. He died in 1971. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, gardening, and flowers. She is survived by three sons, Conrad of Hawarden, Floyd and his wife Marcella of Le mars, and Al and his wife Elizabeth of Akron; one daughter, Lorraine Onnen of Grand Island, NE; one sister, Anna Bjork of Temple City, CA; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; three children, DeWayne, Delores, and Raymond; one great-grandson, Todd; nine sisters and three brothers. ------------------
