Obituary —Mrs. Adeline Quick
Mrs. Adeldine Quick, well known to many residents of this city and county, died at the home of daughter, at Leeds, Iowa, Tuesday, August 28, at 10:30 o’clock. The cause of her death was old age and rheumatism.
The deceased was born January 1, 1827, at Oswego, N.Y. In September, 1844, she was united in marriage to Henry Quick in Bradford county, Pa. They came here in the spring of 1866 and took a homestead east of the Kline school, north of Elk Point, and lived there until two years ago when she went to live with her daughter, Mrs. Ida Irwin, at Leeds, Iowa. Her husband died in 1894.
Mrs. Quick was always a loving wife and kind mother and a good Christian woman, and her many friends were sorry to hear of her demise.
The remains were brought here last Thursday morning, and the funeral services were conducted at the grave by Rev. Stewart, pastor of the M. E. church, of which church Mrs. Quick was a faithful member. The interment was made in the cemetery here by the side of her husband.
She leaves to mourn her loss five children: Mrs. Ida Irwin of Leeds, Mrs. Thos. Carrigan of this city, Wesley of Olympia, Wash., and Mrs. Milo Chamberlain, of Bradford county, Pa.
