Elk Point Pioneer Gone.
Elk Point, S. D., Jan. 24.—Special: Mrs. Uriah Wood, well known througout South Dakota as a prominent temperance and Christian worker, died this morning, at the age of 50 years, of cerebro spinal meningitis.
She came to Elk Point in 1864 with her parents, and has since taken a prominent part in educational, temperance and religious work in South Dakota. She leaves a family of two girls, grown women, three sons and a husband. The eldest son and his family live at Coleridge, Neb.
Elk Point feels her loss deeply. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
