Frank Albert Beck
Frank Albert Beck died on April 25, 1947 from cancer at the Pender, Nebraska Hospital. He lived at Emerson, Nebraska.
He was born August 24, 1864 in the state of Illinois and he came to Parker, South Dakota when a boy. He was in the dray business at Parker and farmed in the neighboring vicinity for many years.
He was united in marriage to Caroline L. Chistianson in 1900 and lived near Parker. To this union two children were born Violet Alice and George Lewis.
Mrs. Beck preceded him in death in Nov. 23, 1910. In 1915 he married Mrs. Lena Levis from Chancellor, S.D. They farmed until the spring of 1922 when they managed the Turner County farm.
Afterwards they resided in Hurley, S.D. until 1927 when they went to Emerson, Nebr., where he resided until his death. To this union one child was born Delores Eleanor. Mrs. Beck died in 1940.
Surviving Mr. Beck are his three children, Mrs. Harold Handgartner of West Branch, IA., Mr. George Beck of Beaver Creek, Minn., Mrs. Otto Bentjen of Thurston, Nebr. Also surviving are four grandchildren, five step daughters and one brother Jay of Mason City, IA.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Parker at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 28. Pall bearers were Messrs. Frank Howdle, Frank Baker, Frank Garry, Sam Rundell, Jim Smith and Jack Riley.
Internment was at Rose Hill cemetery. Relatives here from away were Mr. and Mrs. Otto Bentgen of Thurston, Nebr., Mrs. Sylvania and daughter from Wyoming; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Warren and family of Montrose; Mr. and Mrs. Rueben Fowler and family of Chancelor; Mrs. Bess Gilbert of Emerson, Nebr., Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hangartner of West Branch, IA; and Mr. and Mrs. George Beck and family of Beaver Creek, Minn.
