 The remains of W. J. Blake brought to Parker on Tuesday [from ] Hennessey, Oklahoma, which [had] been his home since he left [ ] about 5 years ago. 

 About [ ] weeks before his death, he fell [ ] cistern he was building and b[roke his] right arm and his collarbone [ ] this he never fully recovered [ ] death, however, was really [ ] from brights disease. 

 He [leaves his] wife, and four children [ ] Nelson [ ] Campbell, Cal; Mrs. A. A. [Rumery] DesMoines, Wayland of Eagle Grove, IA and Maitland of Monroe [ ]. 

 He was born at Auburn [ ] years ago, and located [ ] half mile south of Parker [ ] in 1877. He was a member [ ] Presbyterian Church here. 

 Services were held at [ Hennessey ] also at the grave to Rosehill Cemetery here. Rev. C. N. Patterson [ ] He was laid to rest beside his [ ] The deceased was a good [ ] memory will be [ ] circle of relatives and [ ].

William J. Blake was born in Auburn, New Hampshire in 1831, and died at his residence in Hennessey, Okl., Dec. 30, 1905. He was married to Miss Emma Gibson in 1853, and of this union were born 5 children of whom three sons and one daughter are living. His daughter Alice Rumley, of Des Moines, Iowa being with him at his death. 

His first wife died about 30 years ago. In 1884, he married Mrs. Helen Hand, who was his faithful companion in the remainder of his life and survives him. His daughter and friends did all they could during his four weeks illness. 

For many years, Mr. Blake was a member of the Church of Christ and lived an exemplary life. His funeral took place from his home on Sunday, Dec. 31, 1905 at 3 o'clock and was conducted by Elder James W. Duff. 

His remains were taken to Parker, South Dakota, the same evening for interment in the family burial spot.

Death of W. J. Blake 

W. J. Blake, an old and highly respected citizen of Hennessey, died at his home in the southwest part of town, last Saturday evening, after an illness of four weeks duration. Funeral services conducted by Rev. J. W. Duff, an old friend of the deceased, were held at the home Sunday morning. 

The remains were shipped to Parker, South Dakota, accompanied by John C. Overton’s brother-in-law Sunday evening. A short funeral service was held at the grave on Tuesday, at which time burial took place. 

Mr. Blake, had he lived until next March would have been 75 years of age. He had been a resident of Hennessey for several years and was well liked by all to whom he was known. He leaves a wife and four children to mourn his departure.
