Obituary for Bennitt Jensen
A young man was suddenly taken from our community last Monday morning, Dec. 28th (1936) when Bennie Jensen was seized with a heart attack as he was getting up to go to work. It has been known for some time that he had a weak heart, but he always appeared to be a sort of wiry and quick young man and nobody considered the ailment serious; therefore making the news a great shock to relatives and his many friends. Following is the obituary:
Bennitt Jensen was born on Feb. 15th, 1899, six miles west of Viborg, S.D. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lars C. Jensen. He was the third youngest of twelve children.
Mr. Jensen grew to manhood and lived the entire period of his life here in Viborg, with the exception of two or three years spent in Grant county, S.D.
On July 26, 1925, he was united in marriage to Miss Emma Marie Jensen. To this union four children were born. They are Shomer, Milton and Lyle, living; Niel Sam having passed away as an infant.
Mr. Jensen passed away on the 28th day of Dec. 1936 at the age of 37 years and 10 months.
He leaves to mourn his passing a wife and three children, nine brothers and one sister. The brothers are Henry, Frank, Charley, Arthur, Lars, William, Miner, Clarence, Sam and a sister, Mrs. Albert Axelsen.
Bennitt Jensen will be greatly missed in the home where he has been a kind and loving father. A great number of friends wonder at his untimely death.
Blessed be his memory.
