Obituary:
Mr. Chris Jensen was born on April 15, 1866, in Terndrup Sogn, Denmark, where he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Coming to this country he settled in Fremont, Nebr., where he married Sarah Rode on January 6, 1892.
To this union six children were born, five of whom are living: Arthur, where he had made his home for the past ten years; Mrs. Adolph Peterson and Mrs. Emma Jensen, both of Viborg; Mrs. Irwin Jensen, of Hurley; and Mrs. Earl Richards, Luverne, Minn.
His wife and one son, Robert, preceded him in death. He is also survived by two sons, of a later marriage, Francis and Victor Jensen, of Lincoln, Nebr. Seventeen grandchildren survive.
Mr. Jensen suffered a stroke on January 5th, 1940, at the age of 73 years, 8 months and 20 days.
Blessed be his memory.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 7th, by Rev. N. P. Nielsen at the Maple Grove church and burial at the Viborg cemetery.

FORMER FREMONTER DIES IN MINNESOTA
[sic – the death occurred in South Dakota]
Funeral services for Chris Jensen, a former resident of Fremont and West Point, Nebraska, were held at Viborg, Minnesota [sic-Viborg, South Dakota] where he had lived the past several years. While in Fremont and West Point, he was employed as a miller. He farmed near Viborg, after leaving Nebraska.
Mr. Jensen was born on April 15, 1866 in Terndrup Sogn, Denmark, where he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Coming to this country he settled in Fremont, where he married Sarah Rhoda [sic-Sarah Rode] on January 6, 1892.

[The living children are] Arthur, where Chris had made his home for the past 10 years; Mrs. Adolph Peterson [Elsie] and Mrs. Emma Jensen, both of Viborg; Mrs. Irwin [Daisy] Jensen of Hurley, S.D.; and Mrs. Earl [Anna] Richards, of Luverne, Minn.

Very little is known about the parents of Christen Jensen. On his marriage license to Sarah Rode, Chris stated that his parents names were:
