SERVICES HELD FOR DAISY JENSEN
Funeral services for Daisy A. Jensen was held April 2, 1988, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Viborg, South Dakota, with Pastor Kevin Lee officiating. Organist was Mrs. James Oakland, and special music was provided by Mr. Roger Anderson, who sang “Nearer Still Nearer” and “I Will Pilot Thee.” Pallbearers were Terry Alsteil, Kevin Horr, Ron Schutz, Joel Alsteil, Rich Ferguson and Claire Buesing. Ushers were George Hatttervig and Arlo Andersen. Burial was in Rosehill Cemetery, Viborg, SD. Arrangements were handled by Grace W. Gaddis.
Daisy Alvira Jensen was born July 31, 1910, at Wakonda, South Dakota to Christen and Sarah Jensen. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. Following the death of her mother, she was taken into the home of her Aunt Christina and her husband, Chris Rasmussen, and was lovingly raised as if she were their own.
She was married to Erwin P. Jensen December 21, 1927. To this union seven children were born. They farmed in the Spring Valley – Hurley area until 1963, when they were employed at Canton-Inwood Hospital until retiring to Viborg in 1967.
Daisy was hospitalized October 31, 1987 until entering the Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home on January 8, 1988, where she resided until her death on Thursday, March 31, 1988, at the age of 77 years, 8 months.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Erwin, on August 30, 1983; daughters Evelyn, who died in infancy, and Helen (Mrs. Vern) Alstiel, who died August 26, 1985.
Survivors are two sons, Donald and his wife Twila, of Adrian, Minnesota, Robert and his wife, Pat, of Garretson, South Dakota; three daughters, Rosalie Harper and her husband, Lloyd, Portland, Oregon, Audrey Anderson and her husband, Roger, of Hurley, SD, Joy Jensen, of Viborg, SD; 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; one sister, Elsie Sorensen, Viborg, SD; also Vera VanVoorst and other relatives and friends.
CARD OF THANKS
We wish to thank all those who have been so generous with their cards, letters and visits to cheer Mom during her hospitalization and nursing home stay. She always cherished your friendship and welcomed your visits.
We especially wish to thank the staff at Pioneer Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home for their loving care of Mom during the past five months.
The family wishes to express their appreciation for the many acts of love shown to us during Mom’s illness and death. We very much appreciate the food, visits, cards and other expressions of love and sympathy so generously extended to us.

DAISY JENSEN.
Viborg – Daisy A. Jensen, 77, Viborg, died Thursday in the Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home.
Daisy Jensen was born July 31, 1910, in Wakonda. She married Erwin Jensen, Dec. 21, 1927, in Viborg.
The couple farmed in Turner County for many years and then worked as custodians at the Canton-Inwood Memorial Hospital for four years. They retired and moved to Viborg in 1967. Mrs. Jensen had been a resident of the nursing home for the past few months. Her husband preceded her in death August 30, 1983.
Survivors include two sons: Donald, Adrian, Minn.; and Robert, Garretson; three daughters: Mrs. Lloyd (Rosalie) Harper, Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Roger (Audrey) Anderson, Hurley; Joy Jensen, Viborg; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elsie Sorenson, Viborg.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bethany Lutheran Church in Viborg, with burial in Rosehill Cemetery.
Visitation will be this afternoon and evening in Gaddis Funeral Home in Viborg.
