IRENE—Erma Jensen, 89, died Monday, Feb. 17, 1997, at Sunset Manor in Irene, S.D.
Erma Sorensen was born Jan. 12, 1908, in Irene. She married Arthur Jensen on March 22, 1928. The lived in Davis and farmed in the Irene area. They moved to Viborg, S.D. in 1954. Her husband died in 1956. She moved to the nursing home in Irene in 1993.
Survivors include two brothers: Newell of Gayville, S.D. and Virgil of Rapid City; and one sister, Betty Lue Johnson, of Minneapolis.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Viborg, with burial in Rosehill Cemetery in Viborg.
Visitation is 1 to 9 p.m. Friday, with the family present 7 to 8:30 at Viborg Funeral Home.

Erma Jensen was born January 12, 1908 at Irene. Her parents were Martin and Tina (Olesen) Sorensen.
She married Arthur Jensen on March 22, 1928. They lived in Davis and then on a farm in the Irene area. They moved into Viborg in 1954. Art passed away on September 5, 1956. Erma worked in the Spot Café in Viborg for many years. She was a member of the Rebeccah Lodge. She moved to Sunset Manor in Irene in January of 1993. She loved to play cards, visit with friends, and had been a mother to many.
Erma passed away on February 17, 1997, at Sunset Manor in Irene. She had attained the age of 89.
Erma is survived by 2 brothers: Newell and wife Bernice of Gayville, S.D. and Virgil of Rapid City; one sister, Betty Lue Johnson of Minneapolis; many nephews and nieces; and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers: Chris Jensen, Martin Sorensen, Chris Jensen, Phillip Olsen, Warren Olsen, Wilbur Olsen, Burnell Christensen.
Interment: Rosehill Cemetery, Viborg, S.D.
